Forza horizon 5 steering wheel settings

Is there a fix coming for this problem. I bought the G923 for this game and haven't been able to play at all. As soon as I move the wheel or push a button or pedal the controller disconnected message pops up on the screen. I tried all the tips I could find on here and on the internet and nothing has worked so far.

The game is more of an arcade-sim and not a full-blown simulator, so a controller is perfectly fine. A wheel should work just fine but might be a bit of a hassle in certain situations.
