All three of my tractors have a PTO cap. The 8N's is threaded on to a large diameter tread to the housing well clear of the PTO shaft, like @ferguson. The B's is like the 8N, but plastic with a much courser thread. The L's is like the one pictured above, a reasonably snug slightly flexible plastic sheath directly on the PTO shaft itself.
