So lets just say your max hit with a scim is 20, 21 with longsword. And lets assume you are fighting a monster with really low def. As others have said, you hit 5x with scim for every 4x with longsword. You would average 10+10+10+10+10 with scim for 50 damage You would average 10.5+10.5+10.5+10.5 for 42 damage. That's 16% more damage with scim.
