So far, we've only tried a single load (on what we thought was a "normal" cycle). We know water was used (because we could hear it "filling"), but were very surprised that a water level was never visible thru the glass door. The only difference I see is the size of the drum--1.6 cubic feet for the 2000S and 1.92 cubic feet for the 2100--which means the 2000S has a 8-pound wash/6-pound dry capacity, and the 2100 has a 12-pound wash/8-pound dry capacity. I have a 2100 that I bought used a few years ago. Uses little water. Energy efficient. Low Maintenance – Lint passes safely through a ‘self-cleaning pump’ and then out the drain or dryer vent – so there’s no messy wash or dry filter for you to clean.
