Changing the recoil spring makes a huge difference. Because the compensator deflects some of the force, you can go a lot lighter and still be quite reliable. I tried a 7 pound spring but it felt sluggish in the return. 8 or 9 pounds is the sweet spot. No reliability issues with any ammo. The P is a four pound trigger.

I keep hearing about Atlas, but I've heard nothing but positive things about Staccato. My only 1911 comparison is my Springfield RO Champion in .45, and my TRP. I've been carrying S&W (M&P) sig, and currently CZ polymers for years, but I've always loved my 1911's for range duty, but not for carry.
