I recommend beginning with Xcom Enemy within. It is unknown+ some. Xcom2 has more things going on in the campaign, more kinds of missions, more customisation etc but it is built upon the mechanics from Xcom enemy unknown/within so you might as well start there. No gamebreaking stuff that im aware of

It seems more like you simply prefer the stuff from EW than you do the stuff from XCOM 2. It seems like you don't even want to like XCOM 2, and are just refuting all points that come up against you. XCOM 2 has way more cool gadgets for your soldiers.
